Sculpture
Seven 2016
Generational and familial ties are the focus of this work. In considering my personal place in my family, I wanted to physically illustrate how many people seven generations looks like through this piece. Using pourable foam as a casting medium, I created 122 faces and created a matrix from kraft paper towel to literally tie each face into a geneological web. Both foam and paper towel are inheirently delicate materials which symbolize the state of family relationships across time.
