I consider the use of the word "craft" as a gate keeping mechanism and to keep Indigenous arts separate from the Fine Art world.

 

In this series, which includes Long Walk, I scale beads to super large size and create work from them. These are monumental pieces meant to confront the viewer with beadwork that is also sculpture and which cannot be excluded from the term "fine art".
