The imagery of religion is often at odds with its reality This idea is at the heart of the "icons" that I've created for this series. An image of the Virgin mother and child in their perfection is not the reality of motherhood. Likewise, gun toting Christians seem like an oxymoron to me. It's these points between the Christian ideal and reality that I am most interested in.
